Doug Evans, President/CEO
Co-Founder and Partner. With over 25 years of experience managing
analytical instrument distribution organizations. Doug has implemented
successful marketing, sales and service strategies with typical
growth of 30% per year. He has managed and implemented globally
more than $250,000,000 worth of NIR and automated wet chemistry
solutions. Beginning in 1979, he helped pioneer development of the
NIR instrument market with ties to Neotec, Pacific Scientific, Technicon,
Bran+Luebbe, NIR Systems, Tecator, Perstorp Analytical, and Foss.
Doug has a BS degree in Marketing Management from Virginia Tech
and has completed coursework towards an MBA.
J. Philip Calvi, Ph.D, Laboratory
Business Development Manager
Dr. Calvi has over 20 years of experience as Business Development,
Marketing and Product Manager for Foss, Perstorp Analytical, Tecator,
and Bran & Luebbe, Phil managed VAR distribution channels, marketing
programs, product management and applications for NIR, automated
wet chemistry, viscosity and microbiology. While at Foss and Perstorp
Analytical (Tecator and Alpkem) his efforts helped capture the market
share leadership position. He worked 10 years as Quality Control
Manager for Hanover Brands. Phil holds a BS in Food Science, a Masters
in Food Science and Nutrition and a PhD Food Science in Nutrition
from University of Massachussetts.
Thomas J. Bloomer, VP of Sales and Marketing
With over 20 years of experience in the Analytical Instrument Industry,
Tom has served in a variety of management roles for process and
bench-top instrument companies with technologies such as NMR, NIR,
IR, HPLC, MS, ICP, EDXRF, OES, and sample preparation . They include;
President of US Operations for SPECTRO Analytical Instruments, VP
of Global Marketing for SPECTRO, VP of Marketing & Customer
Support for Biotage, General Manager of Foxboro NMR and Foxboro
Environmental (Division of Invensys), National Sales Manager for
Perstorp Analytical, and Director of Sales & Marketing for Acculab,
a Division of Precision Technology.
Robert Wilt, Senior Vice President
of Technology
Co-Founder and Partner. Bob has 20 years of experience managing
engineering, R&D, manufacturing, application development and
support service organizations, Bob has designed bench and process
NIR devices for Unity Scientific, LT Industries and MSC Moisture
Systems. He is a pioneer in the development and utilization of fiber
optic technology and is a leading expert in the design of NIR monochromator,
filter photometer, diode array, and AOTF. Bob holds a BS in Electrical
Engineering from the University of Maryland and he has completed
coursework towards a Ph.D. in Electro-Physics and Microelectronics.
George Toth, Vice President of Research
and Development
Co-Founder and Partner. With over 20 years of experience in electronics,
programming and communications R&D, including microprocessor
system development, communications system design, chemometric analysis
and electro-optical analysis, George has served as R&D Manager
and leading developer for firmware, software, support programs and
program interfaces for Unity Scientific, Technicom and LT Industries.
He is a leading expert on the design of NIR devices. George holds
a BS and MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins
University and has completed an advanced study dissertation at Johns
Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory.
Gerald Hage, Vice President of Service and Support
Jerry has been involved with compositional analysis and NIR spectroscopy
since 1988. His industry association has been served through Tecator,
Perstorp Analytical, NIRSystems, Foss and now Unity Scientific.
Jerry has a broad-based range of experience, which includes; Kjeldahl
chemistry, extraction dynamics, flow cytometry, FTIR and automated
flow analysis in addition to his NIR experience. In his sales career,
Jerry has been a consistent top sales performer. He has managed
the sales efforts of a large national distribution channel in addition
to selling products directly. Jerry holds a B.S. degree in Chemical
Education and an M.S. degree in Organic Chemistry, both from Illinois
State University.
Mark Stalboerger, Vice President of
Sales
Mark has been working with Near-Infrared spectroscopy since
1983 when he became an assistant lab manager for a contract lab
in the Midwest. The next 12 years were spent managing the operations
of various labs providing service in the area of food, dairy and
feed analysis. Mark was Business Development Manager for Dairyland
Laboratories for three years before he joined Perstorp Analytical
as a Regional Sales Manager. At Perstorp/Foss he was a top performer
managing corporate accounts and a sales staff for seven years. After
Foss, Mark was a Sales Manager for ABB/Bomen/Delta for three years
for North America. He has been with Unity Scientific for the past
2 years.
Mark holds a degree in electronics and is currently working toward
his MBA.
Eitan Keren, Executive Vice President
and Process Business Development Manager
Co-Founder and Partner. With over 20 years of experience as President
of Veritec Technologies, Eitan managed an engineering, distribution,
sales and service organization specializing in adhesive application
systems and components. He developed adhesive detection, bar code
scanning, quality inspection and verification systems and components
for in-line 100% quality control and faulty products ejection. He
achieved 80% market share through direct sales and OEMs. He sold
his company to Nordson Corporation in July, 1999. Eitan holds a
BS in Mechanical Engineering from Technion University and he has
an MBA in Business Administration from Baruch College, CUNY.
