SMARTCHEM arm making noise
Posted: 03 November 2015 12:28 PM

I have a 4 year old SmartChem that has not been used in a couple of weeks.  When I started a run I get a noise when the sampling arm is moving, that sounds like a binding noise.

Can I lubricate the arm or is this likely something more serious?

How can I fix this?

Best regards,

Are you getting vertical sensor or other errors or is the unit just making noise?

We have a procedure for cleaning and lubricating the arm.  Please send me an email at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and I will send this procedure to you.

You can also try a little sewing machine oil to lubricate the arm, as long as the noise is not coming from the diluter.
